Shawwal Moon was not sighted in Saudi Arabia by the KSA Moon Sighting Committee. 

According to the UAE Moon Sighting Committee, the moon would most probably be sighted on Tuesday, 9th April. This will mark the end of the holy month ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal. As a result, 10th April is the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE. Wednesday is the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE. 

Experts assume that the moon sighting might be affected by the total solar eclipse. So, the crescent moon sighting might be pushed to the next day. 

Other countries are expected to celebrate Eid Al Fitr on the 10th of April. 

There has been an official announcement of a 9-day holiday for the private sector, from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3. There is a week-long paid public holiday from April 9 until April 15. 

4. 7th April 

Muslims are called to witness the crescent moon on the 29th day of Ramadan. Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has rolled out the advisory, saying those who would be able to see the crescent are requested to inform the nearest court and get his/her testimony recorded. You can watch through naked eye or binoculars.
